It is SO nice to have a five day break away from school. Although I have A TON of homework to do, plus something on the menu every day, it is great to just get away.Tonight I got a much needed hair trim, had s upper with my mom, did a little baking therapy :), and now just relaxing and watching a movie. My parents are in bed and Kirk's at a friend's house, but I can't begin to explain how good it is to be at home and just relax. Tomorrow, on the other hand, I will be hopefully getting two of my big assignments done. That is my goal anyway. For now I will just sit an relax, enjoy some apple cider, and test out some warm cornbread I just took out of the oven :)

ALMOST done
I only have two more days of classes in my college career. Scary, huh?! Granted one of those days I have four classes, but really.. two days!
Plus, today I turned in my Graduation Portfolio, which I basically pulled an all-nighter to finish, and I gave my last presentation of the semester. Thank God.
Now all I have to finish is...
1. Young Adult Books assignment
2. The Arrival group project - Oh, yeah, we present on that too I guess, but we can just wing it.
3. Three, three-page papers and one ten page paper (Oh joy!)
4. One seven page paper
5. One thematic unit
6. Final exam portfolio

Family
There's a very special garden
Where the trees of memory grow
Nurtured by the kindness
And concern that families show.
The roots are cherished memories
Of good times in the past
The branches tender promises
That souls endure and last.
It's a place of peace and beauty
Where bright new hopes can start
It's memory's lovely garden
That soothes the hurting heart.

My family means the world to me. Although at times we may not see eye to eye, unfortunately more often than not, we will never turn our backs on each other. My parents and brothers are always there for me, through the good times and bad. The love and support of family is too often taken for granted. I want to take this time to show my appreciation. Mom, Dad, Eric, Kirk - Love you guys. Thank you for everything. Adam, in the past three years, you have become a part of my family and I a part of yours. Family doesn't necessarily mean you have to be connected by blood. Love works, too.

All great deeds and all great thoughts have a ridiculous beginning. - Camus
Although I'm sure I have much better things to be doing today, like tackling one of my several homework assignments, I decided to take some time out of the day to try something new. For some time now I have been following some friends' blogs, and they looked so fun! Considering starting my own blog multiple times, I had always decided against it. What's so great about my life? Currently is consist of classes, loads of homework, and work. Whoop-dee-doo. However, after reading my friend Lauren's most current post on her blog, http://vinsverve.blogspot.com/, I decided, why not? So, without the FULL intention of making the idea of a blog a reality, I mentioned to her that I wanted to start one (not revealing that I had actually created the blog and was still considering if I would follow through with it). With the support from her enthusiasm as well as Erin's, another fellow classmate and friend, I have decided to go through with it. Thank you for being my first two followers, Lauren and Erin! Here's to new beginnings.
